Wait more for IR

Entire January of new year 2007 has been passed and no signal from Government side about interim relief to the employee. Central Govt. employees are eagerly waiting for IR. Our sources has informed that there is some file movement in the Ministry, but no action has been taken yet. Meanwhile there are many rumours regarding IR are floating around in the employee circle :

  • that there will be IR @10% of the Basic Pay.
  • that there will be a flat Rs. 1000/- IR
  • that IR will in the two groups viz. Rs.1000/- and Rs.2000/- flat depending upon the category of the employee/officers.
  • that total IR will be 10-20% of the Basic Pay for the entire term of Six Pay Commission, so Govt. will give this IR in phases and first phase will have 7.5% of the Basic Pay.

Insiders say that chances are more for the number 3 rumour.

But it has emerged that no IR is comming before end of March or early April. Since inflation is rising more that 6%, Govt. has to give DA also to the employee at the higher side, so for IR Govt. has make arrangement in the budget itself.

The SCPC should not delay recommending the IR of atleast ten percentage of basic+DA to all categories of employees and the Central Government should immediately release the payment of IR. There was no need for raising this issue in Parliament as it relates to its employees benefit.

I do not understand manisha: DA is to be paid as on the year end which was 3 or 4 % only. It started shooting up to 6% and more thereafter only. Then why should the Govt. pay DA on the higher side ? can you please clarify ?

Actually DA hike is not pay hike.DA calculation is based on inflation. But interim relief means pay hike.what ever be the DA.Government must imediately pay 15% of Basic+DPA as interim relief

There will be no interim relief from a Minister like P. Chidambaram. Rather, he would put a Interim Cut. So, be ready for that. Then after recommendations of the SPC, he would pay us half of what we are getting today. So, generous of him.

A Minister like P. Chidambaram will only pay meagre salaries to Govt. employees and the money thus saved would be spent for the poor. But, none of it would reach to the actual beneficiaries, since meagrely paid employees would share between themselves through corrupt practices and it would 1 square. So, MR. FM, it's wrong policy. lol.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: For a Government which can’t pay reasonably (rather better) and do justice and welfare for it’s employees, there is serious doubt that it would be able to do justice and welfare of rest of the citizens. Mr. P. Chidambaram think about it, before Congress losses all over India (already the alarming bells are ringing in several recent State election results for Congress) and it throws you out of your job.
