Reports in the media suggest that there could be a second hike for the salary of President, Vice President and Governers etc. if the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission push the salary bar of the government officials above the President or Governers. It is to be recalled that President/ Vice President and Governers etc. got last week a good pay hike. This hike will come into force after the relevant law will be passed out by parliament. So the chances of getting salary more than a lakh for senior bureaucrats is doomed , because of the convention that since government officers serve on presidential pleasure, their salary cannot exceed that of the occupant of Rashtrapati Bhawan. Sources in the Reports suggests that this hike for the Presdient and Governers is an interim measure and once the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission comes, there may be another hike if needed.
This last week hike had sugggested that the salary of the Government Officials will not be much as was anticipated, so this proposal of another hike in salary of President, Vice President etc. will keep Babu's in good anticipation mood as they may expect a good hike in the salary around one lakh for the top posts and relative increase for lower cadres.

The sudden hike in the salary of the two highest offices in India is perhaps the indication that the govt is prepared to implement the sixth pay commission reccommendations positively.

I expect that salary of President ofIndia would be fixed around Rs. 1.5 Lacs.
ReplyDeleteCeiling fixed. 1L for Prez. Those who fixed salary of President must have had access to sixth pay commission's recommendations. So babus live within that. Govt is not going to make a mockery of itself by changing salaries of Prez etc within months of fixing it.
ReplyDeleteLike the Prez, Vp, MPs, MLAs etc. whose salary seem meagre compared to the allowances they avail, can not the govt. approve such kind of pay structures for the govt. employees, so that they can have better salary despite drawing basic salary less than the Prez's?
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that pay commission is called babu's pay commission inspite of the fact that the army and scientific organizations are also governed by the commission. we should change our pathetic mentality towards governmant servants and keep in mind that our army and scientific organisations are doing an excellent job for the country.

Goverment should give more salary but to cease the corruption. If top officials of India not having good salary, as they are running entire India then what happens. If they are taking 5-10 lakh monthly no problem, but also show performance.

Phone, Travelling, and so many other expenditure, such IAS are not computer savvy, so having steno, typist and surplus staff.
Why so much money is waisted.
And same is also applied on Politicians.
While IT professional having no servant, and bogus expenditure but they get good salary.
does the 1lakh basic pay for president which is increased from 50,000Rs mean that we can expect our basic doubling from the present value ..thats it?????
ReplyDeleteScientists, Farmers, Security(Police , Military, Navy,Air force) and Teachers must be groomed well for a country to be developed..unfortunately in India all these 4 are not given any importance!!!
The pay-hike offered to our President is rather highly humiliating. He should be treated like a King of our country. His pay should be atleast multifold than the person of his next in command. And everyone of us should not discuss about it. Instead of random revision of his/her pay, it should be linked to automatic periodical revision or as and when cost of index raises.

SECYs PAY RIGHT NOW AT APPROX 66K- - - WELL- - HE COULDNT BE DRAWING HIGHER THAN THE PREZ- - - WHAT SAY???- -- SO DONT LOOSE HOPES GUYS- - - - IT WILL BE BETTER THAN WE EXPECT- - - - !!!
